I tried the HearAdvisor comparison tool and the results weren't even close. Not the result I actually wanted 'cause they're expensive and unavailable to me anyway, but it was Fortell, Fortell, and Fortell.

These recordings have been made using the manufacturer's recommended acoustic options which means a power dome for Fortell's device vs less occluded fittings for others. For me some of the difference was being able to better distinguish the low-pitched consonants like 'm' and 'n' in the voices more easily with my preferred sound samples which happened to be the Fortell devices. These are more likely to be masked by background noise in the environments being tested and thus aids with greater venting are going to be disadvantaged by this.
I found the sound quality between the samples to be quite different and I found that this impacted my ratings. There was one device that had a distinct echo. There were other devices that were less crisp in their overall sound.

Yes. That thought occurred to me.
Fortell's website says that they can be purchased and fit remotely!
So long as they are prepared to work in the middle of the night. :)
Also, no support is a deal breaker for me. Watching and listening to TV with the help of my streamer is the time I feel least disadvantaged by my hearing loss.

Both the review and Fortell site state Auracast is supported, and therefore LE audio as well. However the Fortell app is limited to iPhone and that's the only way to select an Auracast broadcast for now. So currently it's lack of support for Android, not Auracast. If you have an iPhone you should be able to connect to your Auracast steamer. I suspect Android support eventually happens within a year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Android 17 had a built in assistant. I used it today. If the hearing aids have auracast I would think it should connect using A17's assistant.

Office in DC? Hmm... only a 9 hour trip up and back to NC via Amtrak. Maybe a bit longer- it's been years since my last trip to DC- miss it and my friends in MD.
Huh.. driving it takes a bit over 6 hours (well from home to Gallaudet at least lol) on a normal..ish day of traffic.

Updated the first post in this thread with the link to Steve's video, but here it is again for anyone who misses that update:

I really appreciate that Steve's videos talk about sound (including examples) instead of putting so much emphasis on marketing specs + bluetooth/ features + (like the Dr. C's videos that sound repetitive and sales focused ). Thumbs up!
