I would like to see some real world reviews by recent users of the Fortell hearing aid, touching on battery, charging, music, environments other than the “cocktail party problem” environment, etc.

Looks like they’re ready to consider expanding distribution beyond their own NYC clinic. I asked my DC-area audiologist about them, and she sent an information request. Hopefully I’ll know more soon.

I'm in the trial (100-day) period with a pair of Fortell hearing aids. Yesterday I received an audio message that the aids were low on charge (after having been fully charged supposedly overnight). It turned out the charger itself was dead. I had it plugged in properly, but possibly a slight power surge had happened ... Just wondered if anyone else has had problems with the charger system. I've been using the aids for one week very successfully.

What aids were you using previously, and how would you compare the Foretells to them after your first week?

Please tell us more, as these got/have a lot to live up to after all the marketing department hype, would be good to "hear" your thoughts on speech in noisy environments.

How is the charging system with the side contacts? Can you feel the contact area at all when the aids are on your ears? Do the aids dock to the charger with magnets? Seems they are too new to assess whether sweat/dirt/etc. collect on the contacts.

Previously, I was using Oticons (which I'm now using again while I wait to hear back from Fortell). After one week, I have not yet had time to use them in all situations. But so far, I feel like I can hear a little better with the Fortells. You can flip back and forth between "conventional" and "" modes. The AI mode can then be fine-tuned further to amplify just voices in front of you. I feel like the AI mode is helpful to have, but I wouldn't want to use it all the time. However, I feel like I haven't used them enough yet to determine if I'll keep them.

User490: When they are in your ears, you do not feel the contact area at all. And yes, they do appear to dock to the charger with magnets. I was told simply to brush the contacts periodically with the cleaning brush provided, and I have done that.

Tenkan: For sure it will be different for each person who tries them. Here in the early going, I feel like I can hear a little better in general (on the conventional setting), but I really need to be able to try them in more social environments, dinners out, etc., than I've been able to so far. So the fact that they are now dead, at least for a while, is a big drawback. After I speak with them (hopefully today), I should know more about how they handle issues that arise. (I don't live near any of their offices, so drove to 4 hours to NYC to get them.)
Regarding speech in noisy environments, I did have one opportunity when we went out to dinner after picking up the aids in NYC. The mode was definitely helpful in that one environment. I was able to hear my husband's voice better than I usually could in that type of environment, and he said he wasn't speaking as loud as he usually has to with me.

Just an update for the forum: charger was good, just needed to push charger cable a little further.
Happy Saturday all
