I have purchased a Starkey Audibel Intrique hearing aid in April this year.

Question… Is this an actual Starkey designated aid or a hybrid?

I have sensineural hearing loss from a toddler in both ears. But I only have one Audibel AI aid at the moment in my LH ear.

I also have severe Tinnitus.

Have anyone else here got this Audibel Intrique AI . If so, would they like to share their thoughts and findings about them?

So if Audibel Intrique is the same as Genesis AI, does this mean the latter is the most recent model?
Is it from Starkey manufacturer? A Starkey product?

Audibel is a private label Starkey. The thing I don’t like is that only an Audebel dealer can program them. Even if another practice has Starkey software, they can not program an Audibel instrument. I had an Audibel patient move into my area and in order for me to be able to program the aids, I had to send them back to Starkey and have the name changed to Starkey instead of Audebel. The Audibel product is usually sold at a premium compared to the same product under the Starkey label.

Supposed to be better.
I tell people stay away from Audible.
I going to trial the new one from my Audible audi.
She knows not to give me anything with Audible on it.
It should be a Starkey.
If not I’ll politely say no thank you and leave.

So why have Audible privately named Starkey product? Then why have they created a difficulty to reprogramme them if your client needs adjustment?

I asked for a Starkey product and somehow got an Audiblel AI.

Audibel was a franchise that was owed by a family.
Starkey bought them out.
Everything changed.
Attitudes, prices and they’ll sell you Starkey branded aids.
Prices went down significantly.
The only reason I’m entertaining buying the new aids is because I like the audiologist.
She’s has been honest with me.

Audibel was owned by Paul Willoughby Sr. I started selling Audibel back in 1976. The then President of Starkey was Paul Willoughby’s nephew, Bill Austin. Some Audibel aids back then were made by Starkey and Paul made some in house. Eventually Starkey bought the Audibel name and used it as a franchise private label. The reason for the separate franchise is that there can be no price comparison since the only place to buy an Audibel is at an Audibel franchise. Basically the same with Miracle Ear and Beltone. The software is locked and can only be programmed with the correct software.
