For some reason I don’t find that very reassuring. My aids now are bte and I can’t remember the last time I had a breakdown. But I don’t need replacement for aids that keep breaking down during the trial period. I need a different brand.

Didn’t take your response as a suggestion. First off I live in the USA. Secondly replacing an aid on trial that keeps on breaking, at least to me seems futile. But most aids in the USA come with a fairly long warranty period so it’s basically the same thing. But let’s be serious. An aid that keeps breaking and is replaced free doesn’t really alleviate the aggravation factor. Unfortunately .

NHS is actually a long wait these days.
I’ve been going back regularly since my hearing got worse. I got the Oticon around 3/4 weeks ago.
For example - some people are waiting 14 weeks to sort out their HAs that don’t work. 14 weeks without HAs is mad!

Resound, Widex and oticon seem to share the similar signal processing strategy, Oticon SP/UP aids are a tank, no matter how abused they are, they stand up to anything really… they last a loooong time… I have an Oticon Dynamo SP10. they are far better than anything on the market durability wise and will keep using it as a backup hearing aid as they are reliable than my Resound … Omnia still have some durability issues due to it stye of hearing aid but it is so much better than my resound Quattro

Siemens hasn’t been around for a long time(2015?) Signia is what they changed to, quite possibly the later models are more “robust”

This Equaliser looks interesting Altho I don’t feel I need it.
How do I make this stay tho as when I closed the App, it went back to normal?
Do I need to not fully close the App? I’ve just been playing around with it since.
Glad to “hear” you are joining the Oticon gang!
You use an iPhone, right?
With my android Pixel phone, the only time I have to reset the EQ is when I restart the phone.
The app is pretty bare bones, but unlike Phonak it stays connected.
@cvkemp may have some tips for you on the iPhone side.

Do you know if you’re using their speech lowering
I imagine yes as picking more highs up but they didn’t specifically say.

When you close the App and then go back into it, does it physically show the adjustments you’ve made?
Mine went back to 0 but I’m wondering if the adjustments would still be on the , it’s just my hearing that can’t tell?
EDIT - I’ve just tried it again. It definitely stays when I close the App as I put everything to MAX and I could tell.
When I re open the App tho, I could tell the change went from my hearing aids.

Wow, I’m paired to both my old iPhone and new iPhone.
Bluetooth is off on my old iPhone but I’m connected to new iPhone.
The triple click of the home button on my old iPhone still adjusts my .
Not sure how but it works?!
This is also so clever.
Phonak are nothing like this.

@Zebras Wow, this is really good news! I was a Starkey bloke for 30 years before I switched to Phonak. Wondering if I should give Oticon a go next? (Our are quite similar, although I note what you say about yours now)
I have all the Phonak accessories though (Select, Partnermic etc), which of course won’t work.
I’ll give it some thought, but I’m very happy for you - it must be a real boost to you.

A lot of people seem to believe that the successful switch from Phonak to Oticon is brand orientated.
I don’t think it is. Although I get the point about Oticon having more sound etc. I think it’s a combination of 2 things:
-
The Xceed UP is a higher powered aid. Although the Marvel SP is pretty high powered, there is a difference in the performance of the SP V UP.
-
The Marvel is a previous generation aid. We are not comparing the Naida Paradise with the Xceed.
This may get me shot down in flames as there appears to be a lot enthusiastic Oticon wearers, of which I am one actually. But I think the danger is that this thread is misinterpreted.

@Mike59: Should you decide to give Oticonianism a go, you’ll find that our philosophy is generally one of minimalism , unbloated by pricey peripherals.
