I was checking tracking info for my Noahlink from AliExpress, and I ran across a pair of Phonak Audeo L50-L (Lumity) for about $1000 a pair. They were also selling the Phonak Audeo i30’s for more than $2200 a pair. Interesting!
The Audeo i30’s came with initial programming. They didn’t mention remote followup. (Now, that would be really remote fitting.) I couldn’t find any Phonak’s above the i30 level.
I’m sure some people on here are aware of what’s available on AliExpress. I was surprised. I hate buying anything from Aliexpress, so I don’t spend any time looking on the site.
The Audeo i30 price isn’t very good. I paid $2327 for the Sphere i90s at Genesis-Hearing-Healthcare, who is an authorized Phonak dealer. The Chinese company didn’t mention warranty, repairs or remote fitting. And they didn’t say they were an authorized dealer.
If the i30 needed warranty service, would a buyer have to send them back to China for repair? That might take a little time. Of course, Phonak hearing aids are made in Suzhou, China, so maybe the dealer could send a courier over to the factory to drop them off the for repair. Round trip, probably no more than 8 weeks.
I thought maybe someone in Azerbaijan might order hearing aids from China, but Azerbaijan has audi’s that sell hearing aids, and the most popular brand is Phoank. Who knew?
