Yes I have an iPhone. In the Nucleaus Smart App it shows you what your L and R ears have connected. I personally don’t have dual control of both ears in the app. But yes if you have the correct compatible Resound aid you do get dual control. But I haven’t been issued with a compatible through Hearing Australia, therefore I don’t. I’m not sure about the danologic aid though.

With direct streaming I was surprised how much I could hear with my L ear & HA, because without the system, I hear very little from my L ear.

I just talked to a friend who has the N7 and a compatible Resound hearing aid. He told me both the processor and the aid are totally controlled by the Nucleus Smart app. That includes pairing and enabling streaming to set up. My bilateral processors are the same.

I thought you might want to know. The N8 will be the same.

That’s disappointing that I’ve got to use an App when I get my .

Not a fan of having to open an App each time.

I’ll download the App now and see if it has a demo mode.

@Deaf_piper I’m sorry that you haven’t got a compatible Resound Aid. That must be frustrating for you.

Once you have finished with your assessments (12 months of regular mappings) i rarely open the app. As by that length of time everything is all set. These days if i open it once a month I’m lucky.

My is compatible with my processor and my phone. I just don’t have dual control in the NS app. I need 2 apps- one for my processor and one for my HA. But again once they are set properly I rarely go into either app.

Oh that’s good that you do have a compatible .

That’s good to know I won’t really need the App.

When I had hearing, my HAs were set to default and I 99% of the time, left them in that program.

I hope to do the same with the as well.

I wonder if this is an Australia/USA difference. I specifically asked my friend if he had to use two apps or if the NS app controlled both the processor and the aid. He was very clear that the NS app controlled both and independently.

Sheryl, I have heard you mention your hearing aid is old and your countries medical support system wouldn’t get you the newest aid. I wonder if this could be the difference you and my friend are having processor/aid compatibility differences?

Here is a copy/paste from Cochlear about compatible resound hearing aids and also Nucleus Smart app compatibility. I think I see why your NS app doesn’t do what my friends does. He has the Omnia aid.

@Raudrive Rick Australia went dual ear control feature in the NS app 10-11 months ago. My Resound 3D wasn’t compatible with this feature in the NS app.

This new Hearing Australia/Resound again still isn’t compatible with the dual ear control feature in the NS app. . It’s the XA788 DWHT Not every HA/Resound hearing aid is compatible. Nor are all the HA’s from Resound compatible with this feature.

At the bottom is a NS app compatibility list. It mentions the Nexia, Omnia and One aids are NS app compatible for control but not all countries have it.
Go figure. Why so complicated???

Rick I did look at that compatibility attachment. Bimodally everything works well for me for which I’m grateful. Now that a 3rd company has entered the playing field day. It’s difficult enough without adding a 3rd. With the addition of Hearing Australia and the Resound /Hearing Australia partnership along with Cochlear Australia. Life is difficult for those of us who aren’t IT savvy. As I don’t pay for my I’m grateful it works Bimodally.
