I wanted to see whether a Raspberry Pi could be turned into a small, self-contained music source for an broadcast. The idea is simple: the Raspberry Pi runs a music streaming service such as Pandora, Spotify, YouTube Music, internet radio, or a local music player, and its audio output is fed into an Auracast transmitter such as the HomeSpot BA210 v2. Auracast-capable hearing aids, earbuds, headphones, or an Auracast receiver such as the BA310 can all simultaneously listen to the same uninterrupted broadcast within a 300-meter range.
This is not meant to replace a professional assistive-listening installation in a church, theatre, airport, or public venue, but it is a very useful home or small-room experiment. It also gives hearing-aid users a way to become familiar with Auracast before the technology becomes common in televisions, public address systems, and entertainment venues. As a new user, I’m not able to attach files, so if anyone is interested in getting a write-up on how to set this up, just drop me a message on this forum.
