People have mentioned ways to prevent ransomware attacks, but not recovery methods. If you have good backups, you can wipe the system clean and restore from backups. No need to pay anyone to decrypt files. If no one paid, they wouldn’t bother attacking.

As an IT professional for 30+ years, I have to point out 1 missed step in your to list to prevent hacking. Embed the safe in concrete and drop it in the deepest part of the ocean. Even then it will just slow the hackers down.

So true, I have been retired for almost 6 years, so things still haven’t changed for the better and still getting worse
