so my left ear has a full mold.
and I have had hearing aid on left side on and off since I was 10 so not consistently and one of the issue i had is that full amplification hurt my ears. like was startling me. So I ended up wearing it with reduced power.
I just got a new hearing aid and I figured I’d like to train my left ear, with reduced volume but high enough to feel significant. and I noticed some sounds are painful, like mouse clicks, item thudding on desk, some beats on music etc. and here’s the thing, when I pressed on the mold, those painful sound disappear so I’m wondering if the issue is even full ear molds cant be isolating enough? I wonder if there’s a way to make it completely sealed? I think the issue is the micro gaps between skin and molds contribute to loud sounds I previously thought due to hyperacousis…. I can’t say this yet to audiologist bc I fear I might be imagining it and would be brushed off that “it’s already the standard” so I want to check people’s opinions here and what keyword suggestion I can google about this…
