I get complaints from others about echo during calls using oticon connect clip . In webex, when not muted and when I’m not speaking, it shows that my microphone is active.
I have an S9 and had the same problem with my S5
From what I have found the mic in the connect clip doesn’t have any background sound filters so I can see where there could be echoing. I use my connect clip mostly for streaming from my computer so I haven’t had anyone complain about sound issues with the mic on the connect clip. I have done a few zoom meetings using the connect clip with no complaints.

The original ConnectClip had some issues - you (or your provider) might check that yours has the latest firmware. Mine works somewhat better after being updated to 1.13.0 but the microphone array is quite sensitive and will still transmit room noise and whatever if it is not muted. On conference calls/WebEx from my office I use a Cisco bluetooth capable VOIP phone rather than the computer audio in WebEx. I use the phone mute button to mute the ConnectClip microphone when I’m not speaking or the others can hear the fan/duct noise in my office. I have no relevant experience with an S5 or S9 or WebEx on a phone so I can’t offer a suggestion other than to make sure you have the latest firmware in the ConnectClip (use Genie 2 on a Windows box with a USB connection to the clip to check/update).
