I'm not sure about the people 'selling' these - we've had a few people in recently who have been shoehorned into them with fairly substantial losses, simply because relatives had bought the hype/marketing and the optician/whoever wanted to make the sale.

They don't fall under hearing aids here in terms of the fit, so the sales aren't regulated - now in some respects I can see that they a way of introducing people to the concept of amplified sound, however, it's a bit Wild West out there now if the Optician needs the margin and the family are leaning on the client.

This is the sort of product that should probably be exclusive to Specsavers stores with Audiology clinics in them.

But there's no Captions? this would be the game changer for those outside the fit, I've definitely noticed it's pretty easy to be "shoehorned" into just about anything 😉 I'm not sure if having them sold as "exclusive" would be the way to go tho, mainly because this usually adds to the costs O/A

It'd eliminate inappropriate use of the product was the only reason for that suggestion.
