Hearing aides without Bluetooth

I have profound hearing loss. No high frequency. 4% speech recognition in one ear and 6% speech recognition in the other. I wear Bluetooth aides. Can you tell me if there’s a hearing aide for profound hearing loss that does not have Bluetooth? I don’t even care if they are big and ugly.

If the aids work for you then just don’t worry about Bluetooth. You don’t have to use it. Most every modem hearing aids will have Bluetooth.

If those speech recognition scores are accurate I don’t think any hearing aids are going to help much. What does your audiologist say? I would suggest considering an evaluation for a cochlear implant. What are you hoping for hearing aids to accomplish? There might be other devices that could supply you with some sound or provide visual stimulus instead of you need some sort of alarm or notification.

Fully agree with @MDB. @thctyslckr, if, according to cochlear implant evaluation, you are eligible for , it can be life-changing.

To be frank, I don’t recommend procrastinating when considering getting CI.

As the others have said, you need a cochlear implant evaluation. You should see an otolaryngologist who routinely does cochlear implants and work with an audiologist who also does. Good luck!

4% and 6%, that’s really bad hearing. Pretty close to mine before cochlear implants. I do great with the implants, life changing. I got by using Phonak aids with prior to . Maxed out the Sound Recover to bring the upper frequencies down into a better hearing zone of hearing. It helped for a few years but CI is the real answer.
