Hearing test for Senate Bill 88

I was required to take a hearing test because I work for a private school and transport students to and from school in company vans. I've been working for this school for two years. I volunary reported O was hearing impaired when I was hired. My hearing aids were broken so I didn't pass the test. My employer withdrew all access to my timecard and work email. Since then I retook the hearing test and barely passed with hearing aids. I've been suspended from work without pay. Is this legal?

This is a hearing aid forum , not a law/legal advice place.
Only a licensed attorney in your state can provide legal advice regarding your specific situation, specially considering your job includes the transport of students in school (which I assume are minors).

I think it is fine to bring this up on the forum since others probably have faced problems on the job with hearing. This is after all a place for information and support for people with hearing loss.

I think one place to look if you are in the U.S. is your state's department of Vocational Rehabilitation. They helped me with the purchase of hearing aids and other aids I might need to do my job. They also help with finding a new type of employment if necessary.

Finding some legal advice about this from a lawyer is a good idea. Also seeing if you are eligible for unemployment compensation while you find out what your legal options are.
