I’m currently on a months trial of the phonak Lyric hearing aids. I like them but annoyingly the right one is just uncomfortable. Not painful but uncomfortable. I’m gutted as I really wanted to love them.
I’m considering booking an appointment with my audiologist for next week to discuss this as when my trial is up, she’s on holiday so I’ll be seeing someone different.
I was absolutely dead set on having invisible aids because I didn’t want anyone else to see them. Now I’m feeling like doing a 360 turn and going for a behind the ear device. My hearing loss is genetic and also progressive so in the future I may even need a cochlear implant. I figure that I can’t change this so why shouldn’t I be proud to wear hearing aids? I’m scared my audiologist will judge me for this indecision even though I know she won’t.
I’m in my early twenties so I feel like that definitely plays a part in my need to hide anything related to my hearing loss. I’m scared what others will think if they see them.
Basically I’m just looking for advice on how to overcome this if anyone can help!!![]()
