Hi I had been wearing Phonak Lyric hearing aids for 17 months. Sometime late May or early June I developed a serious ear infection caused by wearing the Lyric in my left ear.
My audiologist told me to see my , which I did and she discovered my infection. She cleaned out my ear as best she could and prescribed antibiotic ear drops. She told me that I could not ever wear Lyrics again for medical reasons.
Both she and I contacted my audiologist and explained my medical situation. I instructed my audiologist to contact Phonak to terminate my subscription for medical reasons. She did on three separate occasions and after the last call, Phonak reimbursed me for the seven months remaining on my subscription, however they charged me a $500.00 “early termination fee” which they deducted against my $2245.00 reimbursement, giving me only $1745.00 in total,
I was very naturally disappointed in how Phonak handled this situation and want to let this community know that they should avoid Phonak in the future, as they clearly do not care about patient safety nor do the right thing when it comes to customer issues regarding medical advice.
There are any number of more reputable companies to do business with, which I suggest you all do in the future.
