Is there any need for 48k bit rates outside of music? For music venues, one could just put in a pair of Samsung or Pixel ear buds with Auracast.

Update: deleting and reinstalling the app must of triggered something because I was alerted about an update a few minutes ago. After a five minute install, Auracast is now there.

@Baltazard This DG80 dongle is not Auracast enabled on the hardware side, so the answer is No, unfortunately. But we do have C82 Aura (the USB-C type) and DG60R (the USB-A type) Auracast adapter available.

When the newest version of the Jabra Pro app came out about a month or so ago, (Version 1.39.30). I didn’t have to do anything in the Jabra app nor on my iPhone 13 to have the Auracast function show up. BTW, in the Jabra app, under general information>About Under paragraph Hearing Aid Compatibility, it states, “Enhanced Pro is compatible with hearing aids produced by GN independent of brand”.

IMPORTANT FOR iPhone USERS: In the Jabra app under More, Turn off the switch for, “Optimize MFI connection”, which I think defaults to on. This improved my telephone call quality 100% and it eliminated the pause after tapping on the hearing aid prior to allowing communication.

Not only a Samsung Galaxy S24 but the Pixel 8 & 9’s are set up for Auracast. My Pixel 9 Pro is asking to search for a Auracast broadcast but I have not found one yet. I’m going to have to get a Auracast transmitter. Maybe try to hook it to my TV.

Yes, you should get a prompt.

Usually, when the Auracast stream shows up but nothing happens when you tap on it, it means that the stream is using 48kbit/s bit rate.

Confirm with @PhoebeY and maybe ask for a firmware version that does encryption and runs at 24kbit/s.

I haven’t found an Auracast broadcast yet to see if it works.

I think you are correct but in a different way. It all depends on how one views customers. First thought is the end user. In reality it is the provider that is the customer.

The expensive brand/market goes to the providers that are charging a lot more for the hearing aid and their service. Once they have worked out the bugs then Costco providers that may spend less time with the end user get the products and updates.
