For those who might be interested (if any). The grey lines are from an audiologist's hearing test done a couple of days ago, the coloured lines from an in-situ hearing test done on my computer using my hearing aids today. They look pretty close to me, but I'm interested in others' thoughts.
Below are numbers from Philips Hearsuite. So... fitting at Costco using their and vs. fitting at home using in-situ testing and no REM. Both NAL-2. I hope that makes sense.
I like the fitter, trust his skills, and consider him a friend. For my part it was one of those days. I just felt things were off. I felt I was chasing the tones when I was in the booth. Generally below par in my hearing as well.
Long story short. I walked out of there with the aids sounding awful. The in-situ audiogram was pretty much a hail Mary but I feel that it's worked well so far with only an hour or so of testing. The bottom set of numbers is the difference between my fitting and his. If I'm understanding it correctly, his had up to 10dB (Left, 1k) more gain than mine at low/mid frequencies. My fitting had more amplification at the higher frequencies. Just wondering what might have gone wrong.
