Is the ReSound Vivia a Dud?
44 replies3.6k viewsLast reply
I have just tested four different hearing aids: Phonak Aideo Infinio Ultra, Phonak Virto R Infinio, ReSound Vivia, and Oticon Zeal. While I really, really wanted to go with a model, I ended up liking the ReSound Vivia the best. I found it extremely comfortable and because of its small size, I wasn’t even aware that I had something behind my ear. It performed well for me in all hearing environments, including in restaurants with significant background noise.

Great to read another sharing of experiences. What’s your ? I assume that there is moderate hearing loss?

A favourite of mine as well, glad you’re liking them, how the Bluetooth streaming, this seems to be hit and miss depending on which phone your using as well.

I’ve been wearing Jabra 30s for a month, and they are not duds.
I was able to conduct a conversation at the loudest restaurant I could find using the HIN program. That is, my wife’s and cousin’s voices faded into the background in the All Around program but were fine with HIN.
I do taxes as an AARP Tax-Aide; we work on a large, live room filled with 7 desks, and the HIN program allows me to hear most clients.
A couple of friends who live downstairs from us visited to discuss renovating their apt, and as we moved around our apartment so they could see what we’ve done, we just talked; I didn’t ask them to repeat themselves because I kept hearing them the 1st time they said something.
And my hifi system sounds decent - not as good as it did when I could hear without aids, but the music is enjoyable for the first time in 15 years.
I accept the test results ate Hearingtracker. I accept that Phonak and Starkey and Oticon may be better. I accept what I hear, too, and the Pro 30s are so much better than my Jabra Pro 10s, old Phonaks, old Philips, and old Siemens, that I can live with them for 3 years.
Unless Amplifon completes its purchase. That scares me. If Costco goes full blast with Soundgear before my 180 days is up, I may switch…. And, of course, YMMV.
