I’ve been using live captions on my iPhone since they first became available but having to change my phone language to US or Canadian English caused all sorts of hassles.
Finally with IOS 26 they have rolled out live captioning across all languages.
If you need captions for calls and haven’t tried it yet and you have an iPhone - update to IOS26 and give it a whirl.

Huh. I don’t have a “hearing” under accessibility, there is a hearing devices and a hearing control center. Neither have live captions. Live captions is farther down the accessibility menu on its own. Not sure why different, but there it is.
