You are confusing me with flashb 1024. He’s the one who said he gets “paid” for these videos, not me.
I’m the one who said there are many other ways in which a regular Youtube presenter can derive financial benefit, as well as prestige and recognition which leads to financial benefits.
Are you denying the likelihood that he derives prestige and recognition which leads to financial benefits? If so, do you have a factual basis for that conclusion?
If so, how does your conclusion square with what we see and hear on the

Not sure who said what, but Dr. Cliff is being paid for his videos. Anyone with 300K subscribers and many "like"s is getting substantial payments for ad views. He also has sponsorship deals – two sponsors I’ve seen lately are Phonak and Eosera (ear cleaning drops).

There’s a reason he earnestly spends 15 sec. or so asking for subscriptions and likes – “because it really helps out the channel” – in every video.

Fine, but is Dr. Cliff getting “paid” for dissing Costco? That’s a serious allegation.

When someone tells me they are getting paid for something, I assume they mean that an individual or company is writing a check for services rendered. That’s also why I objected to this “speculative” claim, because it means that Cliff is being paid directly to diss Costco by some shady, nefarious entity. That was the implication. However, Cliff’s opinion about Costco is entirely incidental to his whole project; it rarely comes up.
Hey, maybe Cliff has heard some bad reports about service at Costco. Bad reports about Costco have come up here as well, as well as good reports.
It’s an opinion! Cliff has an opinion. That doesn’t mean that he’s on the take. It’s important to have some real evidence before making those sorts of accusations.

You are beating a dead horse if you are referring to my Nov. 3 “hunch” or “speculation” post.
There is absolutely nothing in that post or my followup comments to suggest that I think or believe or contend that Dr. Cliff is being paid to criticize Costco Hearing Centers. I don’t think that and I didn’t say that. To the contrary I suggested that his negativity towards Costco may be due in part due to distressed reactions from the traditional community and his colleagues following his one favorable video about Costco and, I might now add, his demonstrated interests in being in a leadership position in his field.
Maybe you would consider re-reading that post and my follow-ups to it.
