Good evening, all !

I found this site while searching for information about the MyPhonak app and my phone (which is a Motorola Moto Z3 with Android version 9.x)

On August 26th this year I was able to set my hearing aids to "speech in car" using the My Phonak app (was on a long road trip).

Removed hearing aids, and went to bed.

Got up the next day August 27th and I tried the same thing and got a message that support for my phone would end on the summer of 2026.

I had never seen that message before.

I spent the whole rest of the trip unable to hear the person riding with me.

My hearing aids worked fine one day with the MyPhonak app, and not the very next day.

The MyPhonak app came with the hearing aids; purchased them late 2020.

Phone cannot be upgraded.

How do I find a compatible phone?

The audiologist I went to was through my medical plan at the time, and I no longer have that plan.

Need help....

That's a very old phone (release 2018 - 8 old). I'm surprised it lasted that long!
and, you have Android 9: the current version is Android 17 (You are 8 versions behind).

To continue using the Phonak app, you need to upgrade to a new phone that has the latest version of Android. The great thing about Phonak is that their app (and streaming) works with almost every Android phone that has a recent version of Android. You don't need an expensive Android to run the Phonak app.

You can use your aids without the app (many people in this forum do not like using the app): You can control the volume and change the programs with the built-in buttons. Have you tried this?

Many thanks for the info that the later versions of Android phones will work with the MyPhonak app.

I found the MyPhonak app easier to use; I am very visually oriented, am dyslexic so don't do button presses on the Phonaks very well 😞 so reading a menu and picking the mode works best for me.

BTW, they are Phonak Naida, and IIRC are one level down from the most powerful ones available from Phonak... I have custom molds due to the need for amplification.

Again my thanks, and will explore the phone upgrade.
