Hi everyone,
I’m new to this community and glad to have found it. I’m currently using Phonak Bolero M70-M hearing aids, provided by my NHS audiologist. I’m experiencing a couple of issues that I’m hoping someone can help with.
Firstly, the sound is far too sharp and grating, especially with certain sounds like high-pitched voices. It’s making it difficult to comfortably wear them for extended periods.
Secondly, I was hoping to adjust the settings myself using Phonak Target, but I’m encountering a “ dilemma.” The software tells me that “The hearing aid is protected and cannot be connected.” I understand that NHS hearing aids are often locked, but is this a common experience, and is there any way around this?
I’ve gone from perfect hearing three years ago at the age of 41 to moderate/severe hearing loss now, and with my hearing having diminished so rapidly, I’d really appreciate the ability to fine-tune my settings as and when needed.
While I appreciate the NHS hearing aids, I’m also exploring private options for a more discreet fit, as I’m a little self-conscious about them as i’m completely bald and still a little vain. Although my vanity is diminishing as rapidly as my hearing. I’m sure many of you have faced similar challenges.
Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I’m looking forward to being a part of this community and learning from your experiences.
