I am writing to detail my experience with Oticon Intent 1 Hearing Aids. I am also reaching out to all to see if there could be something in my settings that keep blowing out my aids. I am 68 years old. I do not live in a harsh environment. I am an experience hearing aid user and know how to care for the hearing aids. I do not participate in activities that are harmful to hearing aids
I am quite disappointed with the performance of these aids. I am a 25 + plus year user of Oticon hearing aid and up to now, I have been quite pleased I purchased the Intents so that I could use my Real 1 as a back-up. However, I have worn the Reals 1 (312 battery custom skelton molds with 100 receivers) more often then brand new Intents.
I wear Custom skeleton molds with the Intents with a 105 receivers. During the trial process, my audiologist has changed out the hearing aids (brand new) 4 times along with a new charger. Yet, one or the other hearing aids goes completely dead with no warning, no beeps, no nothing–just completely dead and unable to re-charge or revived at the audiologist office with a hard reset. Against my better judgement I accepted the Intents when the trail period ended because the last (3rd pair) went several weeks without and issue and all appeared all was well.
I use Perfect Dome dry box and tested to see if the dry box temperature was too high. It wasn’t. It registered 83 degrees with a temperature probe for one hour.
So if any DIY’s have any reactions, thoughts or solutions —please share.
