My old Oticon OPN 1 pair of aids have lost their ability to coordiante volume, programming (program 1,2,3 and 4) and the like. In short, they seem to have lost the communcation link.
They still respond to NoahLink and can be programmed via Genie 2.
Any Oticon hardware engineers out there that can tell me what they think the issue is? I have no problem taking them out of the shell as I just did that to make sure it wasn’t a dirt/wax buildup issue on a circuit board. However, there are two small phillips screws that I have yet to take out so have not cleaned everything that probably could be cleaned.
FWIW - I lost the binaural link a couple of days after they were in a very sweaty, humid environment.
My hope is that it is corrosion somewhere that I can resolve, but it may be that I lost a chip or a near field antenna. I have no idea what the hardware communication scheme is for the aids. Obviously I still have bluetooth, but have lost something, too.
If it is firmware or a software glitch I can say I tried to update firmware via Genie 2, but they are already on the latest (6.1) so I was unable to re-flash the firmware.
Any suggestions are very welcome!
