I contacted Phonak customer service and they told me to forget the aids with the app and re-pair - and if that didn’t work, remove the app. Well, forgetting didn’t really work, the app hung, so I removed the app, reinstalled, walked through and it worked. Below I’ve copy/pasted their response. I was reluctant to remove the app before I had some guidance.
Listed below are instructions to reconnect your hearing aids in the myPhonak app. We recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the application and restarting your cell phone if you continue to experience issues with the application after following these steps.
- Open the MyPhonak app on your phone.
- You do not need to wait for it to connect, select “Devices” at the bottom menu of the screen.
- Scroll down and select "Product Information.” (This will be the second box listed)
- Select “Forget my Devices” and tap on “Confirm.”
- At the home screen, please click on “Pair hearing aids.”
- You will then be asked on the type of hearing aids you are using (Rechargeable or with Replaceable batteries) please click on Skip.
- Power off and on your hearing aids.
**Battery Operated Hearing Aids: Open and close the battery doors
**Rechargeable Hearing Aids:
***Place the hearing aids back to the charging case for 5 seconds then put them back to your ears
OR
***Press the power button (farthest button from the wire) for 3 seconds
This will make your hearing aids discoverable by your phone. From your phone app, please look for LE-R and LE-L PhonakHearing Aid (listed under the same box) connections then tap on “Pair.”
- Then a Pairing successful prompt will appear. Tap on “Continue”.
- Kindly hit on “Skip” on the Do you want to enable even more features?
- Tap on “Skip” on Allow us to send you notifications prompt.
- Under Connection Management, please tap on “Stay connected.”
- On Activate Find my Hearing Aid, you may choose to tap on “Activate or Skip.”
- For Safety Information please click on “Ok and don’t show again.”
- Congratulations. You should now be paired back to the app
