Pavlok shockclock3

We just purchased a Pavlok shockclock3 for my son who has bilateral implants. Cochlear tells us that the shock delivered is below the maximum allowed for the internal devices. The company tells us they cannot provide guidance as to the safety with his internal devices. Has anyone used this as a wakeup alarm or know of anyone who has tried this?

The Pavlok appears to administer a shock between two electrodes on the wrist. I don’t see how that electric potential could reach the head where the implants are placed. If it could reach them, what else might it affect in the head, as well on the path between the wrist and the head, where any effect would be stronger? So I don’t think the Pavlok would harm your son’s implants, for whatever my opinion is worth. I don’t have a Pavlok or implants.

This seems like a bizarre way to wake up. For under $30 you can buy a smartwatch that will vibrate to wake you up. Or if your son can’t sleep wearing a watch there are companies that make vibrating alarm clocks that you put under your pillow.
