Hello,
I had posted a few months ago with similar topic but I want to post again with more detail information with full assessment and fitting from Audiologist.
Finally I happened to have full hearing assessment. Based on the test, the hearing aids(INTENT, REAL) updated with new fitting. Based on the audiologist recommendation, he changed dome from OTICON Bassdome into “Connexx Eartip 3.0 OPEN dome, 10 mm” (mainly for Signia hearing aids). Now I have Connect Eartip for INTENT and REAL hearing aids
Based on Audiologist saying, Connect Eartip 3.0 OPEN DOME is way better than previous dome because my hearing impairment is mainly high frequency. After changing all, the first I noticed was… ‘I could hear people on the street talking, even they were talking to others I clearly easily heard’.
Before, high pitch sound of music or sometimes TV sounds had distortion and a little big annoying to me. But after adjusting, distortion was very minimal.
Now I can compare the INTENT and REAL.
- Absolutely Intent is way better for the clear sound. Even in the noise environment, there is no unnecessary noise reduction but more likely “spiking” on the right sound I want to hear.
- REAL is good. However, I compare both one by one, absolutely under the noise environment, Intent is way better than REAL.
My receiver was 85db and I was thinking changing the higher receiver would be better for the less distortion but Audiologist told me, having right fitting and proper Dome would be better option. So Now I am happy with it.
It’s been 4 weeks since I updated fitting for INTENT. Today… I asked ChatGPT. I know it’s silly but I just want to know what information I could gather.
=> I uploaded full hearing as well as detail fitting including CR and etc.
=> I was advised that to down the 4-6Khz (loud) by 1-2 db because I mentioned there is a little bit distortion from high pitch women vocal and TV actor -mainly female voice. Also, advised me to put on the Speech Rescue and gave me the ideal fitting and strength for that.
==> Yes, I tried today and the sound is quite good. There is barely or none for the sound distortion. Also, conversation is very easier than before. (The reason I was not keen to ‘speech rescue’ was my voice was echoing consistently. But after adjusting with new number which ChatGPT recommended, I am so glad.)
The interesting thing is, ChatGPT gave me the kind of future adjustment plan, in case the sound is not still satisfying. as below
1)keep Speech Rescue ON for now
2)7 days later, if sound is not satisfying or muffling, down the strength of Speech Rescue by 1 point.
3)If the distortion improves but sound still feels slightly “tight” or artificial,
- Lower CR in 2–5 kHz range from ~1.5 to ~1.3–1.4 for moderate/loud input.
- This allows more natural dynamic range in the trouble frequencies.
Right now, I don’t think any further adjustment required because I like current setting.
Anyhow, you may try get some opinion from the ChatGPT if you have no idea where to ask. Sometimes we have million questions but due to the time limit, all questions can’t be answered at the audiologist meeting. Just for the learning process and self-learning purpose, I don’t think it’s not bad to utilize ChatGPT.
