jamin, Thanks. I don't do DYI and consider myself a poor candidate to ever do so. Unlike your location, the Puget Sound area has at least a dozen Costco Hearing Centers, the nearest is ten minutes away. And there are many private audiology clinics. I think I'm an easy fit and had only one visit to the audiologist three years ago after my initial fitting. When my insurance kicks in about a year, I plan on going to Costco. Good luck with the new .

I got the 9050s and the Hearsuite program with the Noahlink. I don't mess with the audiologist programming but I do mess with the programs.
I am a mechanic so hearing noises is critical but normal programming actually tries to get rid of everything but speech.
Adding an extra program so you can make mics directional and stopping the noise killing functions works nice so I can hear the weird noises and figure out where they come from.
Also softened the startup chimes because they were quite loud on normal.
Unfortunately, my insurance informed me that I failed to get pre-approval so they will not reimburse me unless I return the aids and start over using their preapproval form and the from Costco. Same insurance company has bought the last 4 sets for me over the years for severe hearing loss and now have to prove I need them first.

If you have to go through that rebuy hassle you might as well get the 9060s if you're within the 180 day window.
