I just bought a second-hand pair of Phonak M90R ’s. They work well and I seem to have been successful in programming them myself - thanks largely to info found here on the forum!
By the time I had also bought a charger, two Receivers, ear-buds and a carry-case, I’ve spent nearly £500.00 - compared to Specsavers price of £1995.00 for a similar HA from their premium ‘Advanced’ HA.
I believe the Marvel range was introduced in 2018 - and had assumed mine could be 6 years old and that they are no longer in production. I’m a little concerned that battery replacements might not be available in a year or two if I need them (They seem to be okay for the moment - I still have an indicated 45% life left after 12 hours of use)
But I am suprised to see someone selling seemingly brand-new Phonak M90’s on Fleabay, and the largest Chinese online seller is also offering M30’s for less than £300 a pair - as well as newer models at very much higher prices.
Could it be these be genuine goods, or are they Chinese ‘knock-offs’??
If the latter, I wonder why the prices are so high - M90’s going for nearly £6000.00 a pair, plus £1200 VAT!!
(Thinks: Is VAT even charged on things like prescribed hearing-aids in the UK??)
TIA
