I’m having a muting issue with my Phonak P90 RT open dome hearing aids streaming music, or using the TV connector.
Whenever I muted all my previous NON-Phonak hearing aids (Using the various Apps on my iPhone) EVERYTHING went totally quiet…the same sound you hear without your hearing aids. However, my P90’s don’t mute the same way? When muting my aids using the App, the aids silence as expected. If I mute while streaming music or using the TV Connector - only the Aid amplification stops, but the music streaming or TV Connector broadcasts continue.
I assume Phonak muting only mutes the hearing aid amplification without stopping Music streaming or TV sound transmission.
I don’t mind using the App to Mute but I want the Mute button to stop ALL noise. I don’t want to also open the custom adjustment portion of the App (in the bottom right corner) to shift the balance. To me - Mute means stopping ALL sounds.
In one week I have an appointment for a right hearing aid receiver issue with my SUPERB, 40 years in the business, Audi. I want her to also correct this muting issue UNLESS this is a normal Phonak feature which shouldn’t be modified.
Bottom line is I don’t always communicate well with my VA Audi, and I am probably the problem - not her. The issue might be my inability explaining problems in terms she understands. Therefore, I don’t want to cause friction requesting something difficult, unwise, or frivolous.
It occurred to me the buttons on my hearing aids might be programmed to mute everything. Currently I use the right hearing aid button to answer and end phone calls only. I won’t use the double tap function - too many issues including the recovery time needed to address Concussion Protocol.
Hopefully there is simple step I’m unaware of which mutes everything.
Thanks,
David
