Phonak Eon Bluetooth range

My new Phonak Sphere Eon seem to have some bluetooth connectivity issue. I use them with iPhone 16 pro. If I leave my phone in one room and go to the next room, 25ft or so away, I no longer get streaming in my HA although the bluetooth and Phonak app are shown as connected. I have to put the HA in the charger and reconnect to resume streaming. I do not remember this happening with my previous (giant) Phonak Sphere infinio. Any ideas? I understand the distance may be too long for the bluetooth, but at least I should get warning by shown the HA not connected to bluetooth.

Yes, the distance may be too long depending on what is between your phone and the aids (type of wall material, electrical things running through it, etc).


Bluetooth is a short range communication tech and aids are designed for battery optimization, not maximum coverage (if not, your complaint would be about battery life

Phonaks make a sound when the aids' disconnects but not always when the signal is weak (which can explain why your phone says connected but the sound is not).

What you describe is normal.

Two different Bluetooth connections. One for audio, one low energy (probably two actually) for the app to control the aids. The LE connection may be fine even though you're out of range for audio.

Looks like Bluetooth radio might have been one of the things they cut down when they trimmed back the size of the new model.

For what I know, Eons range isn't poorer than Infinio? Someone correct me of I am wrong.
