I maybe advocate for a bit hard compared to others, but I have just seen so many success stories among my patients with really drastic improvements in quality of life. The biggest difference that jumps out at me is the ability of my CI patients to comfortably understand someone talking to them from across a quiet room without looking at them. This represents such a reduction in the degree of effort they are using day-in-day-out.
