In my search for (first time user btw) I now have a demo pair of spheres. I ordered what I thought were the spheres, but either my error or the audiologist and phonaks naming i originally got audeo infinios i90r. I wasnt sure what i got when i left. Called and now they are ordering spheres. I was looking in the app when I first got the non-spheres and could not find the speech in noise setting. Then after research I learned mine were not the spheres. So today i got the demo aids, and still in the app there is not swipe left to get to any other setting. They are in auto, and I have access to restaurant, tv and music, but nothing else. I did remove(forget) in settings and then added the new demo units.

Is this an app issue, a setting my audiologist needs to add or do I have older or non-sphere spheres?
Are all tips compatible with these, or in general?
In the videos people are talking about the new dome tips that phonak came out with and it would seem they were selling/pushing them with the spheres, but mine came with a regular open style tip. Is that a phonak thing or my audiologist? They have been great ( the audiologist)as I test things to give me what i am asking for, but the problem is I dont know what comes with new units or what I should be asking for.

Do they always come with the non-rechargeable cases? Each unit they have given me always comes with the wall charging units and they are telling me my insurance doesn’t cover the rechargeable cases. On the non-sphere units they told me a recharging case may cost $500. Now because I haven’t settle to my specific units I haven’t fully explored tips/charging case/travel case.

I have the Spheres ordered and will be getting them from the the 5th of December. They come with a charger that has a built-in battery pack. I don’t know why the demos wouldn’t have the same charger. I am interested in what you figure out about the app. I have been wearing aids for 20 years but the Spheres will be my first experience with Phonak aids.

This is a program your audiologist can create for you, or you can create one yourself by going into a very noisy environment such that the aids enter spherical and save a custom program from that.

Good t9 know. I sent my email to my audiologist today. I want to keep as much in the automatic mode as possible. I also requested that my left aid be set as the master. And I hoped that the fitting would be as close to my INTENT1 aids as possible, except that I needed more clarity in really noisy environments.

I’d recommend spherical and speech in noise programs be added. Sometimes I want it to stay in one vs the other when it is on the threshold between the two. Flopping back and forth bothers me sometimes.

When you hit autosense, you get a list of the programs available for you to manually select, those your audiologist have added and any customs. The TV, restaurant and music are provided by default, but they kinda fit in the custom programs category.

To see the program currently in use (when you are in autosense) hit adjust button. The program will be displayed at the top with all the controls you may manipulate.

I don’t think there’s a way to see a menu of the programs available in the aids.

Another program I’d ask for is the audible phone program, for when someone hands you a phone and says, “Here, talk to cousin Johnny…” It will copy the mic pickups from one side (which you need to tell the audiologist! It doesn’t swap) to the other side. I forgot to make sure they gave me that program and I need to ask for it.

The photo screen shots show how to create your own program, which you asked about. Switching to a program other than autosense takes it out of autosense, of course. And yes, it is manual. I’m not sure what you were expecting. You’ll want to create that spherical program when it says spherical in the place on the second screenshot I sent where mine says calm. Not sure what more I can say.

Sorry, I didn’t follow your audible phone program, could you describe what it does and how it works ?

I was able to use my tv and a laptop to bring up noise and speech. I was then able to use the app in auto while clicking adjust and it was changing in the top title to tell me what auto setting it was switching to. I get it now and actually really like these so far. The main function I wanted from my aids was to be able to ( infomercial ) “Set it and Forget it”. But also be able to make changes if needed. The fact that I wasnt aware these were switching from 1 setting to the next and that they feel natural in sound, is great.
