I’m new to this Self Programing.
The only thing I’ve done so far is to connect to my aids and click through the screens and look to see what is there. I did click a box that was unchecked for using the buttons to answer my cell phone, but other than that I was careful not to change anything since I was getting ready to leave on a trip and I didn’t want to take the chance of making a mess.
Using Phonak Target for my Marvel M-90-13-T aids
with the most recent set-up from my Audiologist I find that almost every program the highs are too muted for speech
This is a very current program from my audiologist based on a new test
it sounds ok to me in normal situations, such as now when sitting at my desk with just the ambient office chatter noise. background talking from next door, the clatter of my keyboard, and the droning of my desk heater. Autosense has it in “Calm Situation” now.
But nearly anytime I’m actively wanting to listen to speech the highs sound muted big time!
such as in “Calm Situation” or “speech in noise” or “speech in car” or “speech in loud noise” or “comfort in noise”
I have found that if I use the Myphonak app, press “Adjust Program”, and then select “Clarity” it brightens things up and I can understand the speech much better.
Checking the equalizer, it seems to be dialing up the mid a little and high just a bit more.
Now and then with it set that way…like now in my office with the same background noises the keyboard sounds a bit too hot
My question is what is the setting I’m looking for to tweak those levels in the autosense programs? I think I’d be happy to just turn up the highs &/or mids just equally across the board if that’s the best/easiest way.
