Phonak TV Connector volume adjustment

I bought a Phonak TV Connector on eBay. The volume that it is set to is too loud. When I reduce the volume to the minimum on the MyPhonak app it’s still too loud.

Is there a way to reduce the default volume on the device without going to my audi (who might not be willing to adjust it because I didn’t buy it from him) or buying a NoahLink and doing it myself with the Target app?

Do you have the one with buttons on the top like volume buttons? I just leave mine in the middle setting and then adjust the aids as needed. Remember that when connected and using the TVC, the volume becomes a balance between tv and ambient.
Not sure what to do if you don’t have the buttons. Does the source have specific volume for the output the TVC is connected to?

In the app you can change ambient, to hear the tv better. Sometime the tv volume over sounds my , do changing ambient in app works well.

Thank you for the responses. I think I have it under control now. The volume buttons on the unit didn’t seem to be working. Now they are. I hadn’t tried the ambient mode yet. That helps.

When you have them paired and listening to something press the volume down on the TVC as many times as it lets you. You will get an “at the end” tone. Then turn them up and you will get an “at the middle” tone. If you go up in volume then of course the source becomes louder but if you do then you’ll get an “at the end” tone.
I keep mine in the middle and then adjust the aids as needed.
Turning up the volume on either will make the TVC louder and the ambient quieter. Turning down either will make the ambient louder and the TVC quieter.
Ambient in this context means the mics on the ’s.

If you use the analog input (from a headphone jack on the TV) then the TV remote will control the volume. If you use the TOSLINK input, then you have a choice: use the volume control buttons on the Phonak streamer, use the hearing aid volume rocker to control ambient/stream balance, use the Phonak app to control either volume or ambient balance, or use a Digital Analog Converter (DAC) to add a volume control with its own remote control (Amazon).
