That 40% charge won’t last long. I have 2 android phones, Pixel 8 (every day phone) and my old Samsung S9. Both have the Rexton Reach app on them. says to look for a Find my Hearing Aid feature in the Rexton Reach app but I don’t see one. I see several apps in Google Play Store to find bluetooth devices but it seems they all, even ones with ads, want me to subscribe. I was hoping there was a free one or some other way to locate the . If I have to I’ll subscribe and cancel when I don’t need it, but I don’t know which ones would actually work. It must be either in my bedroom or downstairs somewhere, maybe the kitchen, but I haven’t been able to find it. Costco opens in the morning, maybe there will be a charge left, but maybe not. And I don’t know if they’d have a helpful idea. They have a one-time replacement thing, I believe, but hope I don’t need to use it, at least now.
The best app to find a lost Rexton Reach hearing aid is the
Rexton App, as it is specifically designed for your devices and includes a built-in “Find My Hearing Aid” feature with a signal strength indicator. While many third-party apps exist, using the official Rexton app is the most reliable method for tracking your specific model, as it uses Bluetooth for proximity.
I had the Rexton Reach and I can say the feature was not there (maybe my memory is bad , I had them 6 months ago ).
Frankly , I don’t believe everything says and I always check the source of information to confirm the validity of the answers. Sometimes I ask different AI engines the same question and I get a different answer .
below is one example: I asked Copilot if the Widex SmartRIC has two way calling . It does not yet the AI tells me it does . If you ask Gemini , the answer is no. (See below)
Lost one of my TruHearing 7 (same as Signia IX 5) hearing aids today while trimming trees. The area was heavily wooded with lots of leaves and stuff on the ground and covered at least a 1/2 acre.
My wife and I looked for an hour or two an gave up. I Googled how to find a hearing aid and came across and app called Wunderfind. The app is used to find lost Bluetooth devices and is free to use and is only a couple of dollars to purchase it which gives you the ability to map and other features.
W…
Funny, my Pixel 8’s playstore found it but wouldn’t instal it. My Samsung S9 DID find and install it. Trying to find it now. Seems to see it, trying to get increasing signal strength by moving phone…
I tried that about 45 minutes ago, streaming Ozzy Osbourne, couldn’t hear a thing. I live here alone. My hearing is so so, maybe better than average for an 82 YO man, but couldn’t hear a thing coming from the , was listening in my bedroom, but that’s not where it was. Got suggestion, that led to FINDING IT at r/hearingaids.
I’d tried several bluetooth device finding apps for android, even subscribed to one’s 3 day free trial, uFind. None of them worked or didn’t ask for $$$ upfront until I tried Wunderfind. That one was different:
Didn’t ask for $ and the interface was intuitively great and simple. I picked my device from dozens of devices in my vicinity, only one of them was mine (the missing hearing aid), I’d shut down all my others. Here’s the post I just made at Reddit:
Oh my GOD!!! Found it!!!
Went to sleep ~3 hours past my bedtime last night, flummoxed. Right Rexton Reach (the missing HA) was down to 20% charge. I figured when I wake up it might be shut down by battery depletion. So, wake up and the Bluetooth on my Pixel 8 said it was 10% charged. I’d left Wunderfind on all night, running on my Samsung S9 (It had been recommended in posts but for some reason my Pixel 8 couldn’t install it, so I’d tried on my seldom used old Samsung S9 and installed it on that last night). Woke the S9 early this morning and it said 0% signal, Pixel 8 phone continued saying right HA charge was 10%. After a bit S9 said up to 20% signal but mostly around 15%, on average, scanning the bedroom, which is where I figured it was. With 10% charge left, it could shut down any moment. I figured give it one last-ditch try, WTH. I figured almost no chance I’d find it and would drive to Costco and ask them to get me another right Rexton Reach HA.
Scanned around the bedroom, and found the signal went up a bit toward the door. Proceeded down the stairs and the signal got stronger! Poked all over on the stairs, didn’t see it. Kitchen. Hmm, nothing much. Went towards the bathroom. Hmm, signal went up… a lot! Up to 50%, even more! I’m looking all over surfaces it could have fallen on.
Then notice my down vest hanging on the inside of bathroom door. Like a Geiger Counter the % went up. I’d checked that vest a few times last night, I was wearing it when the right HA went lost (finger in ear, where is it???). Lo and behold, it was in an inside pocket. I NEVER use that pocket! Somehow the HA found its way into that pocket!
I just cancelled my 3 day free subscription to Ufind. Wunderfind didn’t ask me to subscribe, no ads either. Wow, this is great. I won’t have to fly to my Thanksgiving family meetup with only one HA and won’t have to work with Costco to get me a replacement. Needless to say, I endorse Wunderfind and am trying to RATE it!
Thanks for the direction here, without it, I’d be in a pickle over this! I was wondering what I’d do if something like this happened. So easy to have a HA brush off my head and not realize it until …
@Muse Wow, that’s great!! And good to know about Wunderfind. I just had my own saga losing an aid in Costco!!
It’s a miracle that it was found, after my husband and I looked for it fruitlessly in Costco, indoors, in the plaza, in the parking garage for hours! I used Find My . . . but I didn’t know to try to zoom in closer.
Wunderfind shows % signal seen. Mine was mostly under 20% but went as high as 99% when phone was held near the down vest whose pocket it was in. Naturally, I rifled the pockets (4) and there it was in inside pocket. I don’t think I’ve ever put anything in that pocket. There’s no way I did that last night. Somehow it came out of my ear and fell inside the vest and lodged in the pocket. Wunderfind does estimate the distance to the device. It worked like a charm. Recommender said he’d found his lost that day on a 1/2+ acre of heavily wooded ground using Wunderfind, so I tried it. Feels like a miracle I have 2 HAs right now. Got call from Costco and I told the woman she should tell the fitters about Wunderfind. I’ll do so personally when I see them.
On iOS i use lightBlue. It doesn’t show signal%, it shows signal strength in dBm. It also has number of bars out of five type power indications. The effect is about the same. I think lightBlue is available on android as well, but I don’t know that for sure. A good freebie.
That exact thought occurred to me last night. I’d looked for hours and couldn’t find it where I figured it had to be in the house so I concluded it had come out on my 2+ hour hike into the hills (1000 foot elevation). Then I realized that my Pixel 8 reporting that the RIGHT was at 40% (it did earlier in the evening) and then 20% I thought, hey, IT’S IN THE HOUSE!. Then I got the idea of a finder app and searched. Got nowhere with the apps I was trying until someone suggested Wunderfind, that it worked for them. I knew it was in the house, but had gotten down to 10% charge by dawn today. I figured, don’t give up, maybe Wunderfind will lead to it and with a night’s sleep and my old Samsung S9, I was like a prospector hunting for precious metal and BINGO!
