Portable charger for Infinio 50

Hi. My son is going to college next week and just found out that he has a couple of days where he starts classes at 8am and finishing at 8:30pm with about 4 hours of receiving and Bluetooth phone, etc. We’re not confident that he’ll be able to make it through the whole day on a single charge. We looked into the chargergo for Infinio and have found very few reviews. Not sure if that’s because there’s not much demand or if the product has problems.

I’m sure the product is fine. If there were issues with it you would have seen hundreds of complaints!; as the charger is vital. This happened a few years ago with a well known Costco hearing aid that ended up with Costco to separate at the time with the supplier, Sonovo. But the current Infinio charger is fine and I haven’t seen any problems with it. My own experience with it is fine as well.

I have the sphere Infinio i90. Not the same exact charger, but I bet I’d get five or six whole days from my charger battery. Has the firmware been upgraded to ultra? My aids go a lot farther on a charge since I did that.

WhiteHat is answering a different question. A charger case lasting five days
isn’t the same as aids lasting one day.

It’s the four hours of I’d worry about. A Roger receiver carries its own radio
and it listens the whole time, not just when someone is talking. I’ve watched
that alone knock hours off a day. The runtime printed on the box assumes no
streaming, or half of it, and your son is well past that.

I wouldn’t bet on 12.5 hours. Not with FM running.

What I’d chase isn’t capacity. I’d ask what thirty minutes in the charger buys
him, because on most of these that’s worth several hours and a college day has
gaps. Nobody prints that number.

And I’d have him pull the receiver off between classes. Biggest lever he’s got.
Costs nothing.

You can always get a portable usb-c battery that he can carry in his backpack . 15 min of charging can provide about 3 hours of use. Cheaper than getting a charge-go case . I always carry one of those when I travel for my earbuds , phone , etc .

Or plug the charger to a laptop and charge the aids .

The charger uses standard USB-C charging. I’ve never used the Phonak plug with my charger .

That was during my “(Audeo) Paradise life” :sweat_smile: I always have powerbank with USB-C cable in my backpack with Audeo Paradise charger, which was less handy than my present Infinio Sphere charger with built-in battery.

These days , you can use your iPhone (15 and above) to charge small devices like aids and AirPods .

My intention was the case will hold a fair amount of charge and be able to charge the aids as much as you could dream. As others mention, the batteries gain a significant amount of charge in a very short time.

Roger uses quite a bit less power than a stream. First of all, it doesn’t have to transmit at all. When I was using the p90s I went significantly longer in the day streaming to my ears through roger or tv connector than straight BT connections. I used them for both streaming zoom and ms teams meetings and playing podcasts and music. I had to provide the mic (although the newer Roger’s will provide that, too) when in meetings. But if I tried doing it all by BT I was facing trouble with the batteries before 8pm. I used a media cable with my phone to have Roger send music and podcasts up. Run some experiments to see what the real deal is. I think the Infiniti’s should perform even better than my paradise aids did.

You’ve got me on part of this, and I’d rather be precise about which part than defend all of it. Roger downlink is receive only. The aid never transmits, and AirStream from the TV Connector plays the same one way trick. A bidirectional link makes the aid hold a radio conversation going both directions, and that costs more than sitting quiet and listening. Your P90 experience fits the physics, so I’ll take the correction on that comparison.

The part I’d still stand on is the baseline. Four hours of any streaming beats the brochure number, because in my experience the brochure assumes little to none. So for a school day with four hours of , planning around top ups is still the right call, whichever radio is doing the listening. And your case-holds-days point upthread is fair too. I read your first post too narrowly.

  1. What particular system your son use?

  2. Do his hearing aids are in warranty period? Perhaps they need be sent to the manufacturer for battery replacement (in practice: replacements of whole hearing aids).

  3. What model of hearing aid he use?

  4. Perhaps your son need upgrade his FM analog system to Roger system, which is digital, less power-consuming, gives by a few classes better understanding in noise with communication with colleagues
