Procedure to Bluetooth pair with ReSound Enzo IA?

Hi all,

First thanks so much for this great community!

Can someone who has Resound Enzo hearing aids confirm the procedure for how to pair a Bluetooth device with these hearing aids?

I’m trying to help my dad who lives in another state to pair his new Enzo AI headsets to his iPhone. His audiologist confirmed Bluetooth is enabled on the Enzo AI.

I went through the detailed Enzo AI manual before posting and frustratingly the documentation I found left it pretty vague on how to enter pairing mode on the Enzo AI. I would expect it would be either hold a button the Enzo AI until it blinks or beep, or possibly turn them off, turn them on and then have the phone search for the hearing aids.

My dad isn’t the best with attention to detail so knowing the procedure ahead of time means I can walk him through it step by step, I can’t rely on him much to debug.

I don’t know if the phone model matters for the pairing procedure, but it’s an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I believe for iPhone it will use Apple MFI protocol via .

There are two ways to pair an iPhone with the Resound Enzo IA - the easiest is the method shown in the video posted by @Baltazard

You do need to first download the ReSound Smart 3D app from the Apple App Store. the first time you open the app it will take you through the procedure for pairing. This only needs to be done once.

If you don’t want to use the Resound Smart 3D app then it is possible to pair without it as follows: -

  • Go to Settings on the iPhone
  • Use search to find Hearing Devices
  • If the aids are already paired with the phone they will be listed and connected.
  • If no hearing device is listed then - restart the aids either by turning them on and off or alternatively placing them in the charger waiting a few seconds for the charging lights to come on and then remove the ads from the charger
  • the aids will then pair after a few seconds each aid will emit a tone, and the phone will show the aids as connected enabling the volume to be adjusted via the iPhone

My advice would be to the ReSound App as this provides easy to follow guidance and is very useful for controlling the volume, hearing programs and also provides the ability to connect to Broadcasts

Put them back in the charger to activate Bluetooth, then take them back out again and then the iPhone will find them in accessibility, hearing devices.

The ReSound Enzo supporting

  • bluetooth to connect to Apple iPhone or Apple iPad. (Apple proprietary )
  • bluetooth to connect to some Android phones (Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy)

The Resound hearing aids not able to connect to any device via classic bluetooth (like Phonak, Unitron, Signia BCT)

To connect the Enzo Ai to an PC you need to use a dedicated Bluetooth LE Audio adapter ( from avantree or FlooGoo)

I’ll try the charger method (place in charger, wait for LEDs, remove) to initially pair the hearing aids.

Installing the app unfortunately means more prompts and more UI interactions, which I can handle on my dad’s behalf when I’m there in person.

I also did get a C82 LEA adapter so he can watch videos from his computer with sound going to the hearing aids, but I’ll pair with the phone first.

Thank you again for the helpful responses, if anyone from Resound is looking the manual should be updated to suggest ‘place in charging cradle’ method.
