Pulled the trigger on Jabra's

Thanks. Did you trial other aids? Thinking if I can’t get much improvement I will try to find a private audiologist. I know one that is really good, but very expensive. He caters to very high end clients so aids would be $6k min.
I may insist on trying the KS10’s. Or if no improvement on these, I may just return them and go to a different Costco and start over from scratch.

I tried the philips and jabra for extended period. Had the oticon more 1 in only abiut half hour. I think the more 1 might have been slightly better for me, but it was the first one I tried and the audi there was terrible so I’m hesitant to go back. The biggest thing I need is the wind noise reduction (I walk the beach a lot and drive a convertible). The jabra with m&rie are the best with that - although wouldn’t work with you at all unfortunately.

Phonak Brio 5? I would think that would be closer to your power range? I’m no expert, but if you want more power than Audeo/ks10, then maybe?

It’s a lot more then that, the UP model delivers up to 141 dB SPL (peak output).

If you are not using custom molds with your hearing loss with any hearing aids you are getting short changed on hearing quality. The Jabra aids are great aids when properly set up.

The KS10, Phonak aids might actually be a better fit for your loss with their frequency lowering technology. The Brio 5 aids are more aids than you need looking at your audiogram.

Thanks for that info. Not sure why, but this Costco doesn’t even want me to try the KS10’s, say they are not a good fit for my high frequency loss. I called my HIS and asked a few questions and was surprised to learn that I have only medium powered receivers. I was told at purchase that I would be getting power receivers. Now I am not sure why or what is going. Not sure how standard receivers help correct my 100 dB loss.
And I did have one custom mold on my worse ear with my prior aids or I would get bad feedback. But it was suggested that i trial these with double power domes. I have an appointment on the 8th and supposed to get fitted for custom molds. At this appointment I will have many questions (and doubts).

Interesting. On their site it appeared that the recommended range was down to about 105 but perhaps I saw or misread…

You are right. The UP receiver is 105 dB.

UP BTE Aid would be higher then the UP receiver in a RIC Aid as a BTE Aid can carry more power.

Sorry guys, I was referring to the P90 UP BTE, Which has a maximum power output (MPO) of 141, it’s fitting range is 120dB.

The UP receivers MPO is 132 and as you and @Zebras have stated the fitting range is up to 105dB.
