Remote Support Session with Costco?

My phone’s Easy Line app has the capability for Remote Support.

It seems like a great time-saving tool (both patient and provider) for program tweaks.

Yet since my July 2021 purchase of KS10s, I’ve never had a remote support session with the Costco Hearing Aid Center.

What’s your experience with remote support from Costco?

Do I need to specifically ask for a remote session?

Is its use dependent on individual store/specialist preference?

I was told at my local Costco that they don’t use that because there are too many connection issues. Sounds like an excuse, but it could be true.

The gal that programmed my hearing aids wasn’t enthused with the idea. I doubt if she has ever done a remote adjustment. Heck, I not sure any of the fitters at that store have ever done a remote fitting adjustment.

With that said, my local Costco is surrounded by other Costco locations within 15 miles. So remote adjustment questions probably don’t come up much at this location.

My Costco no longer do remote sessions. They have seen more issues with them then positive outcomes. Or something like it doesn’t work well in most cases. I switched to and am happy with that. I can see how it could be difficult to communicate with the patient remotely. Yet folks do it with some success. Maybe they do not want to be perceived as an OTC company. Not sure.

I live in Oregon and just recently had a remote session with my hearing specialist at Costco and it went very well. She made the adjustments I needed with no problems.
