Resound ONE cannot connect to Smart Fit

It’s not clear to me whether you are restarting your aids as you try to connect. So you start SmartFit, it finds your aids and then you tap connect. At this stage you have to restart your hearing aids. This is a security protocol so that the fitter doesn’t inadvertently connect to another set of aids that happen to be in range. You restart them by turning them off and then on again. I do this by using two hands to press the buttons at the same time without taking them out of my ears. So it’s five seconds to turn them off, then once they are off, press again for 5 seconds to turn them on. You will hear the start up bleeps and then they are discoverable by SmartFit for just 2 minutes.

I am using the charge box to restart them. That’s how my Audi does it.

I click fit patient. Then I click connect to resound smart fit. While it’s loading I pull my ha’s out of box. Smart fit finds them. Noahlink is lit up. And I assign them. Now I have to click continue which is when the connection error msg pops up.

I checked smart fit compatibility trouble shooter.by clicking properties on smart fit. It’s saying windows 8 is as high as It goes. I have windows 10 and could update to windows 11. Just another thought. Trying to post a screen shot.

Nope not that either, I don’t know anyone who’s using 8.1 or 7 it’s all to old now, SmartFit happily runs win10 and 11.
And I did check my Airlink 2 and it’s exactly the same as yours in your screenshot, I use it on my win10 laptop no issues, also this is getting real messy with all your questions and our replies on different posts, Doug start a new post so we can keep everything in order, cheers

Ok I will start a new post after this msg if I need anything. I am just trying to figure it out. Compatiblity was a good question I thought. I am checking everything. I wasn’t asking if I should run windows 8. Thought you thought I was asking that. Was just saying that’s what mine said. Glad to rule it out. I was noticing too that msgs were everywhere. I was just answering where I was questioned. Still new and learning. I’ll do better. Thank you. Talk to you later. Decided to keep this thread instead of making a new one. If that’s ok.

Thank you for the info. I was going to buy another airlink2 but I can find anymore. So I might just buy a Noahlink. If it still doesn’t work I can just return it. I might restore my laptop back to factory. Then update to windows 11. It’s a great laptop. I bought new little less than 2 years ago. I might also borrow my son’s laptop and try everything on it. If it were me, I would try a new NoahLink Wireless before I messed around with the laptop. SmartFit 2 works just as well on Windows 10 as 11, so updating to Windows 11 isn’t likely to help in itself.

But trying on another laptop is also a good plan. And note that you can download the latest version from the Resound site rather than installing an older version and updating it subsequently.

Sounds good to me. Going to order it Monday. I looked all over the resound site for a download. Only place I found wants a gn account number. I think thats what it was called. Plus other info. Business name ect. Appreciate the info as always. Talk to you later.
