Yeah I had a bit of a chuckle about that myself, just goes to show how subjective ones hearing is!

I’m sorry to hear of your bad experience with the Rexton Reach. Your friends who recommended it were right. It is really a very good hearing aid; it seems clear that you had the bad luck to receive one that is defective. One option is that you could simply replace the defective one with a new replacement so that you can have a fair trial with it.
Costco has introduced a hearing aid that is new doe them, called SoundGear AMP. It is identical AFAIK to the Starkey Edge, which has very advanced technology. As has become the Costco practice it was introduced into only 100 Costco stores back in last November as their first release. I was told by a SoundGear that they are now ready to offer it in all Costco stores. So, it should be released across the full Costco network very soon. This is a rare opportunity to get premium technology which is identical to the brand name product but at the Costco price.

I’m confused about this comment, how is it rare?
Rexton Reach = Signia 7IX
Sennheiser Rise = Phonak Infinio I90 non-Sphere
Jabra 30 = Resound Vivía 9
Phillips 9050 = Bernafon Encanta 400
Rexton Inox = Signia Silk 7IX
all of them are equivalent to the highest tier-level of the main brands and this has been the case for many years .
Maybe I misread something.

I'm guessing it's a rare opportunity to get the same premium models at such an amazing price compared to the overpriced from most clinics.

“I thought the 9050s were the same as Oticon Intent.”
Not even close. They each have a completely different approach.

that sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after replacing perfectly usable hearing aids. i hope rexton can address these connectivity and settings issues, because reliable iphone integration is essential.

I have a running love-hate relationship with Rexton Reach from Costco for my garden-variety .
Big stupidity that their app doesn't let you store your self-developed tweak. They might be wising up. Each morning, I raise my gain from 8 to 12 and cut my treble to -4 and I spend a happy day with pretty good hearing. I did my fine-tuning as per my thread " ..." which will give you a picture of just what gain your are doing in each band. (I suspect audiologists try to deliver normal extra-high frequencies which demands unfeasible and distorted treble. So just cut the treble a bit, like for me to -4.
There might be a way to communicate with their smart-ass tweaker so as to get good results but I haven't figured out how to talk with it.
Bluetooth is in flux. The Reachs are in flux too between the new HA Bluetooth and the old standard. A main issue is conflicts among various nearby devices emitting Bluetooth. If on every device except your iPhone is off, it may work fine. BTW, there's a gizmo on Amazon that plugs into old-BT computers and converts their output to new HA BT.

I’m following this discussion closely because I’m in the same situation, about 70 days with the Rexton. My looks very similar. I’m right on the “profound” border. Still struggling just with earpieces that don’t fit. About to redo left ear mold for 3rd time.
The controls are very limited. The ’s are lousy with music but I could live with that if I could carry on a conversation with my grandchildren and family. I know there’s a learning curve with learning how to listen with the HA‘s but I’m thinking of returning them now and use my forward time more productively with a different set. But the audiologist who I think is very confident insist that for my broken hearing, they have nothing better than this for this type of hearing loss

The Costco Rexton's use an outdated Bluetooth hearing aid standard. It is not Bluetooth Classic that the Rexton website references. I confirmed this with Costco Corporate. If Bluetooth is at all important, the Rexton's are a no go.
I returned the Rexton's and got the Senn Sonic Rise. I am very happy with my decision.

I appreciate this. I will do some homework on the sennheiser sonic rise. Are you comprehending conversations better?

Not true as the Rexton Reach R + from Costco is Bluetooth classic. The other version Rexton uses , , LEA so that's a pretty good offering for connecting to just about anything.

If that's true, it's a very recent change. I returned the Rexton's a few months ago due to lack of Bluetooth Classic. I reached out to Costco corporate to see if the Bluetooth Classic was available from Costco and was told it was not.

This was just done 2 months ago. He covers the new Rexton with 4 others. Worth listening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3eAFkcvIEc13

If you’re returning the item to Costco, I’d first make sure the return is fully processed and then compare a few alternatives based on what you actually need. Checking specifications, warranty, and user feedback before choosing the replacement can save you from going through the same return process again. I usually take the same approach when comparing equipment and suppliers, including Hydro Land for horticultural and growing equipment.

FWIW, please note my experience, above, with the Jabra EnhancePro 30, purchased in mid-2025 and their warranty replacements which I received last summer, 2026. The questions are whether they are now available with the replaceable size 13 zinc air batteries or not, and what caused the numerous audio failures I experienced with the 2025 units. Good luck, and I recognize that “YMMV”! 😉
Best, Bob.
