I’m a long time hearing aid wearer. I’ve just replaced my KS6 hearing aids because the mic on one quit working. The hearing aid fitter urged me to try the latest greatest Rexton product - so new, it isn’t even on their website yet. It’s Costco, so other than time lost, I’m not really worried.
Problem 1: There doesn’t appear to be a way to adjust the volume of my phone. The only reason for me to have bluetooth is to use my phone and the volume doesn’t seem to be able to be changed. That’s a deal breaker if it doesn’t get sorted.
Problem 2: The Smart Mic. The surface of the thing picks up a LOT of sound, rubbing against a shirt while being worn, for example is like someone blowing on the mic. While it connects to my iPad just fine, my work computer doesn’t have bluetooth, and do video/audio editing. Can’t seem to get it to connect to other transmitters so that I might use the speaker port. (My Resound Mini Mic has an 8mm analog jack, super easy to use.) I can deal with if it connects; I’ve got digital everything around me and am fairly savvy about tech… I’m the goofy person that likes to connect to the sound systems at Costco and blare stream Boogie Nights or random goofy songs.)
Problem 3: the fit. This may just me getting used to / hearing aid again after a 6-year hiatus. They feel more like ear plugs and don’t fit the same in both sides.
After all this bitching, I just need to know if anyone uses a Rexton and can adjust volume on their phone. My fitter is not the sharpest tool in the box.
