Hi there, I’m new to the forum and writing from Argentina. Sorry in advance for my mistakes in English grammar, I’m an Spanish speaker.
I have a moderate hearing loss and using since 6 months (see attached). I’m using the Aligo AO1 minirite T (both ears) from the Demant Group and similar to the Philips 3000 line. My experience is globally good, but still struggling having conversations in background noise.
Since I’ll be travelling to USA next month, I already scheduled an appointment in a Costco hearing center (I already payed Costco membership), considering I’ll be able to buy a good HA at a lower cost.
I have a couple of questions:
Is it possible to perform a complete audiogram in my country and give ot to the Audi, instead of doing it at Costco? I’m wondering that the speech comprehension could give wrong results, given that I’ll do it in English and my weak listening comprehension could affect the outcome of the test. Maybe I could ask for an Spanish speaker Audi ?
The second question is related to what HA to choose. My first intention is to go for the Philips 9050, given that my brain is already used to the way Demant products manage the sound. But I heard good things also about the Rexton Reach (equivalent to the Signia’s Pure Carge & Go iX 7).
My priorities when I look for a new HA are:
Rounded quality sound (not very sharp) / Effective noise management / Stable bluetooth - Good streaming sound / At least one day of battery life / Reliability
I have an Android phone, Samsung S24.
I understand that buying a HA in a country where you don’t live always involve a risk, however I think I could take it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
