Yes, I know that from the very beginning of using them. But I found that lock as marketing strategy to force people to buy very expensive TableMics, which was very annoying and appalling.

I am only interested using Roger On Sphere + Roger On V1 + Roger Select V1 only in table mode.

Totally agree that Phonak's market strategy is very greedy and annoying. Let's see if future firmware update brings table mode to legacy devices' MTN mode.

I was provided the Roger ON3 with my Phonak Spheres i90s. I am a veteran with hearing loss and the Spheres are the best aids I have worn in my 21 years wearing aids.

I think the biggest limitation of the Roger On Sphere is the battery life. 8 hours is probably fair if you're using it with Rogerdirect compatible hearing aids, but 6 hours when used with other hearing aids/ seems a little short. I hope it has fast charging.

To be fair, "6 hours with other /" is the same as On 3 and On V2.

Roger On Sphere does consume more battery then previous models, the battery capacity grows from 260 mAh to 300 mAH, to provide the same operating time. It still takes 2 hours to fully charge, with only 5V DC 500 mA power supply accepted.

Stereo wide pointing mode is still only available when using with RogerReady hearing aids. I think all these indicate that the real reason is Phonak's market strategy prevent users from getting new generation of Roger receivers for other HA/CIs. (Okay, there maybe some technical limitation here without integrating Roger receiver into HA/CIs.)

Since I have a Lumity i9 and I would like to take advantage of the upgrade to the Sphere, I know that if I use the new version of Roger ON with the Sphere, it would allow me to jump into that arena.

 

I wondered if anybody has any ideas of how you would have the Roger placed on your pocket or on your person as a way of operating it in its normal fashion from that viewpoint, so to speak. That would be perhaps useful but I don't know exactly what thoughts people have about mounting a Roger on your person. If anybody's done that, even in previous generations, it would be useful to know about before I decide on a buying decision.

Roger has a clip on the back (well, my V1 does) and I’ve worn it on the lapel of my jacket at events for work while doing the awful ‘networking’ thing. In this way, Roger gave me more speech than just my (KS10) but Spheric speech mode would likely improve that experience.

Clip on worked better than being suspended on a lanyard - less noise from movement etc.

As I was at a tech event, most people weren’t freaked out but did ask what it was. Many said they hadn’t noticed I was , and either my HAs do a bang up job or they were just being kind 😃
