I recently purchased a pair of Oticon Intent 1 hearing aids from an eBay seller. The seller had thousands of positive reviews, so I felt pretty good about buying from him, especially since my Audi was going to charge $7,000 for the aids. The seller was generous in that he shipped via 2-day UPS, programed them and included the smart charger that I had asked about rather than the standard charger. However, the documentation he supplied indicated that he made a couple of errors in the settings, so I am looking forward to correcting those when I receive the Noahlink Wireless 2 device. In the meantime, I am working through the Genie 2 software and learning its features.
I want to make sure that the hearing aids are new and legitimate. I have the serial numbers, how can I determine from those numbers the manufactured date of the hearing aids?
Also, I had previously been using some demos which my audi had set up and they worked well. I am curious as to how to obtain the ACT number which is generated by the Oticon hearing test software and apparently is helpful in programming the aids using the Genie. 2 software (otherwise I’ll just use the alternate, sample audio tracks method). Is it possible to compute or estimate the ACT value by reading the audiogram results with the various measurements of intelligibility and speech in noise ratings?
Thanks for your help, everyone! It’s great to have a place to ask questions!
