Settings on smartfit gain adjustment

I’ve tried to find the answer on the forum but no luck. I’m using Smartfit on my Jabra Enhance Pro . On the gain adjustment page, I have the HAs unlinked and the center section which has the arrows and the 1, 2, 3, set to 1. I click on a single frequency (say the 1K frequency at the 65dB setting), click on the arrow to raise the gain, and it changes the gain on at least one, sometimes both of the frequencies beside it. Is the software designed this way or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

I’ve the same issue with the Danalogic fitting software. Anyone else encountered this and found a fix/workaround?

This is normal, most (or all) fitting tools do this.

I’m guessing a) they want to avoid harsh transitions. And b) this is often the desired behaviour from the wearer’s point of view. If I need more gain at 1kHz, I probably need a bit more in the surrounding frequencies as well.

Yeah as mentioned you cannot change just “one band” without others changing as well, the formula is designed this way.

As an experiment I’ve just tried the same thing within the Oasis 26.2 fitting software and it’s the same effect there. Learning all the time. Thanks, @wtolkien, @tenkan

Thanks everyone! I suspected that was the case, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t user error. It makes sense that we wouldn’t want one frequency lying right next to another to be far louder than those around it. I appreciate it.
