Should I allow Oticon app to share serial numbers?

I see that the Oticon app has an option to “process your hearing aid serial numbers" to provide updates. Is this a wise thing to do or will it open a can of worms, given that my hearing aids were not obtained from an audiologist?

I’d expect processing the serial numbers to improve your chances of getting firmware/app support, not reduce them. The real risk isn’t creating a problem — it’s that the system may identify the aids and show whether any support, warranty, or update path is limited.
