Siri read notifications for Vivia hearing aid switched to very low volume

I have set the notifications (messages, etc) to be read by Siri of my iPhone and transmitted to my Vivia hearing aids. This has been working perfectly for months. The last couple of weeks though the notifications are read in very low volume, like whispering. I can usually return them back to normal volume by turning on and off my in the charger. This is a pain. I googled, but it seems random, even with people that do not use HA. I have checked all my settings, no changes. Any ideas? Thanks

Apparently, there is a “Reduce Loud Sounds” option, intended to protect hearing while using headphones. It is said to sometimes affect Siri. You should be able to find it under Settings: Sounds and Haptics : Headphone Settings : Reduce Loud Sounds" and turn “Reduce Loud Sounds” off.

Thanks, but that’s not it. I have these settings correctly set. It is also random. I turn off the volume and ringer of my iPhone at night. Sometimes it works if I turn them back on before putting on the . But not always!

Well, poo, here I was hoping that was it! Hmmmm… I’ll have to put another nickel in my brain and see if it comes up with something else! :grin:

I would factory reset your phone to see if that helps with the settings.

Before I lost my remaining hearing, I had Siri read out texts. It was very handy.

I asks my brother how to raise Siri voice and he said you have to say Hi Siri, speak up and it’ll raise the Siri volume.

I tried mine and it’s at max already.

I did this and now even when it works as it should , Siri still speaks even louder, but when Sirii whispers , it still whispers just a bit louder! The only thing that works is to keep putting the in the charger on and off or failing this to restart the iPhone, but it is never consistent. I think one of the iPhone updates messed this up.

No. It makes a bit louder. When I turn the off and on, sometimes it goes to normal and sometimes to low volume. If it goes to normal after I told Siri before to speak louder, then it is too loud! And it is not really whispering, it is as if I I the volume too low. it only affects Siri reading the notifications. streaming etc is fine.

No, I only reset when I get a new iPhone! Rebooting corrects the issue until the next time I turn the off. Usually turning them on and off corrects the issue. Once it did not, and I rebooted the iPhone. It fixed it for that day only. It is sort of random. It may depend on the order I turn the iPhone on after sleep mode and turning the HA on, but I am not sure. When I googled, other people without HA had similar issues in the past. The response was to tell Siri to speak louder or reboot the iPhone. In my case, this problem only surfaced a few weeks ago. It was fine before.
