Hello,
I have been a long-time user of Phonak hearing aids since 2013. Recently, I started using an Oticon Intent 1 — my first Made for iPhone () hearing aid — and I’ve encountered a few issues I’d appreciate your guidance on:
-
By the end of the day, there is a consistent 11% battery level difference between the left and right devices. Is this considered normal behavior?
-
I’m using an iPhone 13 with iOS version 17.6.1. When accessing the hearing aid settings via the triple-click of the side button, the interface occasionally stutters. Additionally, when I attempt to change the microphone input, the microphone option sometimes disappears, and I need to toggle Bluetooth off and on to make it reappear. Is this a known issue?
-
When switching programs or adjusting the volume, the left hearing aid seems to respond with a noticeable delay. Is this delay expected or indicative of a synchronization issue?
-
Is it possible to designate a primary (master) hearing aid — left or right? My right ear has significantly reduced hearing, yet system tones and notifications are always directed to the right side.
-
Is the noise reduction feature always enabled by default, or does it require activation through the Oticon Companion or Genie software?
-
Is there a compatible streaming accessory that supports both television and desktop computer audio transmission?
-
While listening to music over Bluetooth, I was previously able to increase or decrease environmental (ambient) sound using the physical buttons on my Phonak device. With the Oticon Intent, it appears I need to either triple-press the power button and adjust volume there or use the “Mute Ambient Sound” option in the Companion app. Is there a way to control ambient sound levels directly via the device buttons, similar to Phonak?
For reference, the firmware version of both hearing aids is 1.1.0. I was previously able to configure some of these functions with my Phonak devices, and I’d like to understand if similar functionality exists within the Oticon ecosystem.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Erkam
